Mission Project 2025

Adventist Media has been working towards a mission trip whose goal is to renovate the Tangibangara Seventh-day Adventist Church in Choiseul Province, Solomon Islands. This trip is being planned for October 2025.

What are we planning to do?

• Install a (4.8 kW) solar-powered electrical system
• Install new ceiling fans and curtains
• Clean the roof
• Repaint
• Run training for the church and community

Why are we doing it?

• Electricity generation is a substantial cost burden for Tangibangara church. Solar power will reduce that cost significantly.
• As a result, the church will direct more resources to community outreach.
• It’s an opportunity for us to serve our neighbours
• To remind ourselves that our job is to resource the whole South Pacific region.

Where is Tangibangara church?

Tangibangara is a village on the east coast of Choiseul Island in the Solomon Islands.

Trip Details

This is a ten-day project, leaving Sydney on Sunday, 19th October and returning on Wednesday 29th October. The dates are subject to confirmation with the airlines. Your deposit for airline tickets is due by the end of August.

• Sunday October 19th: ✈️ Sydney ➤ Brisbane ➤ Honiara
• Monday 20th:
  • 🛩️ Honiara ➤ Kaghau Island
  • boat to Tangibangara village (approximately 65km)
• Spend six days, seven nights in Tangibangara village
• Monday 27th:
  • boat to Kaghau Island
  • 🛩️ Kaghau Island ➤ Honiara
• Spend two nights in Honiara
• Wednesday 29th: ✈️ Honiara ➤ Brisbane ➤ Sydney
